Amanda Vogt is originally from Columbus, OH. She moved to New York City after graduating high school to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology where she earned her degree in fashion design. While in New York she interned for a fashion photographer, a well-known fashion magazine and helped out at multiple fashion shows for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. She left New York City and moved to Athens, OH in the Fall of 2009 to study magazine journalism at the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University.
While studying at OU, she wrote for multiple publications and also managed two other fashion related blogs for those magazines. She wrote for Backdrop Magazine and was creative director for a student-run fashion publication, Thread Magazine, where she orchestrated photo shoots and the styling of models. Before graduating, she and an OU classmate collaborated to conceptualize and create a single issue digital fashion publication -- B Magazine.
It was here that she ultimately found her passion for digital media and tech. By working on several online publications, blogs and magazines she was able to learn how media was evolving in the new digital age. Upon graduating Ohio University, she moved back to Manhattan where she currently resides. Since being back in New York, she has interned at COTY doing international marketing, worked for an e-commerce startup company doing creative operations and then went on two spend nearly two years doing sales, marketing and product management at 72Lux Inc., a tech startup that brings products to people through online publications and sites.
She has always had an interest in both fashion, photography and writing and has fortunately found a way to combine these passions successfully. This blog is a combination of those things as well as some of her other interests. Here, she will discuss her views on fashion, trends, photography, magazines and designers as well as share snippets of her own work and writings.
